Expanding employee ownership
My work leading the Tennessee Center for Employee Ownership is focused on one central challenge: too many business owners are nearing transition without a clear understanding of employee ownership as a viable path forward.
This initiative combines statewide outreach, trusted relationship building, and ecosystem design to ensure ownership transitions are practical and accessible. It connects business owners with aligned advisors, strengthens referral networks, and aligns workforce systems, economic development leaders, and capital partners around clear, implementable pathways to employee ownership.
Together with the Employee Ownership Expansion Network and peer state centers across the United States, this work is contributing to a coordinated regional strategy that moves beyond isolated transactions toward durable, place-based infrastructure. The goal is not simply to promote employee ownership as an idea, but to embed it within the institutions and communities that make it sustainable.
