Our story
We did not set out to build a film studio. Our work grew out of a shared desire to understand why so many people feel disconnected from the economy they help power and what it would take to make alternatives visible and credible.
Over years of working at the intersection of workforce development, employee ownership, and job quality, alongside our own experiences as entrepreneurs, small business owners, artists, and documentary filmmakers, a pattern became clear:
Many of the most promising ideas shaping the future of work remain confined to policy conversations and technical reports, while the people living these transitions carry stories that rarely reach beyond their immediate communities.
Having built businesses ourselves, we understand the weight of building a successful business, the vulnerability of risk, and the responsibility that comes with leading a team. As filmmakers, we also understand the discipline required to craft a narrative that honors complexity without losing emotional truth. Our Story Studio emerged from that intersection of lived experience and creative practice.
We believe cultural change and economic change are deeply intertwined. If we want a future where workers, businesses, and communities thrive together, that future must first become imaginable. Story is how we help make it visible.
The Story Studio
The Good Future Story Studio exists to build narrative power for the ownership economy.
We produce cinematic mini-documentaries, explainer content, and strategic collaborations that translate complex economic ideas into human stories. Our work centers founders, worker-owners, and communities navigating succession, shared ownership, and long-term stewardship.
Our content spans:
Short-form explainer videos that unpack emerging ideas shaping work and ownership
Cinematic mini-docs that center lived experience and emotional truth
YouTube and creator collaborations that bring employee ownership into mainstream conversation
The Story Studio complements our Strategy Studio, which builds systems, partnerships, and field infrastructure. Strategy builds the architecture. Story builds belief.
Together, they connect policy to people and vision to lived experience.
